Roy Miles
Entrepreneur, Artist, and Collector
Roy Miles, aka Ghetto Geppetto, is an Oakland-born artist, entrepreneur, and collector whose work celebrates the soul of his hometown. Creator of “Hoodland,” a line of rap-inspired collectible toys, Miles blends street culture with storytelling, honoring Oakland’s creative legacy. His journey from Oakland to Hoodland has been a hell of a story. “Storytelling—that’s everything I’m about now,” Miles says. “I think I’m the most Oakland thing around.” A lifelong artist and early toy enthusiast, he turned a childhood love of Happy Meal figurines into a career—traveling to Hong Kong in 1999 to learn vinyl toy production firsthand. His creative path spans animation, green screen, virtual sets, special effects, and music videos, all driven by a passion for uplifting culture through art and design.
