Joan Pinto

Joan Pinto is a ceramicist specializing in elegant, and sensory art. Her organic work is influenced by her fascination with seed pods, desert formations and by her memories of growing up immersed in a farming lifestyle. Her stoneware work feels unearthed and weathered as if excavated from an archeological dig contrasting with her porcelain pieces which are clean, luminescent and feel both refined and somehow still raw.

Joan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from UCDavis and studied Art History while living in Holland. Her post-graduate studies took place at Brooks Institute of Photography.
